The Project

     On March, 1, 2014 I am starting a bicycle trip, across the European continent with departure from Lisbon, Portugal. I will do this mostly to feel alive, the purpose of life isn't just being born, growing, studying, working, raising a family and then die, the purpose of life is a lot more than that, and it's only by believing and fighting that you get to be happy. This trip means a lot to me, since I am willing to get to know new people, new countries, cultures and a lot more. I want to be able to take a lot of photos and later in life show it to my children of grandchildren, while having fun doing it. Carpe Diem, seize the day, that's exactly how I want to live my life.

     

     I will combine the great pleasure of travelling, the fear of the unknown and the pleasure of cycling plus, Geocaching through the whole trip.

     It will be just me, for a period of 120 to 180 days, alone, with a bicycle and the minimum items required, taking nothing but very few money.

Who Am I?

Luis Basch, 19 years old, from Lisbon Portugal whose favorite colors are Red and Black, who likes to travel, to meet new people, new places, doing sports such as running, swimming and cycling, with a nerdy side that enjoys playing video games, his favorite gaming sagas are Final Fantasy and Legend of Zelda, was once one of the Top players at Rome Server in Silkroad Online, an online MMORPG which he played between the dates of 11th January 2007 until June 2011 in his main character Basch__FF, a rated unique killer, also loves to play the guitar, listening to Rock and Metal music, going to gigs, live festivals, playing snooker and minisoccer, hanging out with his friends, acquired recently a tattooing machine and is trying to learn this art, loves design, collects music CDs and Magic The Gathering cards. Another one of his passion is technology, loves to know more and more about software and hardware, but he is also passionated by what surrounds our planet, which was the main reason for him to participate in the Axe Apollo Space Academy contest to win a trip to space, in which he was one of the final 20 winners from the 14.000 participaters in Portugal. He might have not won this time, but he will fight for this dream to come true. My latest adventure is this European Bike Tour, which is the reason why I created this blog.
